Khang Su Van also has many different names, such as Phan Lien San, U Thai San… This is a mountain located on the natural boundary between Vietnam and China. Shown through milestone number 79.

Tour Schedule

  • 22:30: Leader picks you up at My Dinh bus station (or 270 Nguyen Hoang/Ha Son Hai Van bus company), takes a sleeper bus to Sapa.
  • The bus will pass Noi Bai airport area about 30-45 minutes after departure time, so you should choose the latest flight arriving at the airport at 22:30.
  • Those who register to go from Sapa will be refunded the round trip Hanoi – Sapa at market price.
  • 05:30: The group arrives in Sapa, takes a short rest and does personal hygiene.
  • 06:00: The group has breakfast and prepares personal belongings.
  • 07:00 – 09:00: The group gets on the bus to Pa Vay Su border post (~70km)
  • 09:00 – 09:30: The leader completes procedures with the commune and the Border Post, while the group interacts with the Porter brothers and supports the Porter in preparing supplies and food for the trip.
  • 09:30: The group sets off to conquer Khang Su Van peak.
  • 11:30: The group has lunch next to the waterfall along the way.
  • 12:30: The group continues to march through cardamom forests and primeval forests that are less affected by humans.
  • 15:00: Conquer the first challenging slope about 1km.
  • 16:30: Arrive at the resting hut. Light the fire and cook rice in the cold of the old forest.
  • 18:30: Have dinner, socialize and chat with the group members.
  • Trekking time: about 6-7 hours, the terrain is not too harsh, there are many old forests and forests of all kinds.
  • Spend the night at the resting hut built by the ethnic people, with enough blankets, insulation, and toilets.
  • 04:00: The group wakes up to do personal hygiene.
  • 05:00: The group has breakfast and prepares to continue the journey.
  • 05:15: The team begins to conquer the real challenge from the hut to the top about 2km of steep road, estimated to take about 3 hours of climbing.
  • 08:00: The group checks in at the border landmark. Touching the “border roof” – landmark number 79 in the saddle area near the top.
  • 08:30: Touching Khang Su Van peak, taking souvenir photos, Wild Adventure awards commemorative medals and withdraws the group along the old road back to the hut.
  • 10:30: Return to the hut, rest and have lunch here.
  • 11:30: Pack up and return along the old road.
  • 16:00: Return to the starting point, get on the bus back to Sapa.
  • 18:00: Arrive in Sapa. Receive personal belongings and the Leader will take you to relax in a Dao herbal bath.
  • 22:00: Get on the bus back to Hanoi.
  • About 5:30 the next morning, arrive in Hanoi. Wild Adventure Team says goodbye and see you again on the next trip!!

You need to prepare

  • Trekking shoes (high-top shoes are best) provide a comfortable feeling, hug the feet, have good grip on the sole, and are waterproof.
  • Note: Shoes should be chosen 1 size larger than normal for comfortable feet. In addition, you should trim your toenails before the trip to avoid problems with your toes.
  • Clothes for 2 days and 1 night on the mountain:
  • 2 long pants (preferably quick-drying pants) and 1 long-sleeved shirt (preferably a thin windbreaker) to wear while trekking.
  • 2-3 T-shirts (depending on the number of days of the tour).
  • Thick, warm jacket. To wear at night when staying at the hut.
  • 1 sweater or super thin down jacket to wear when sleeping.
  • 1 pair of honeycomb slippers to use at the Resting Hut.
  • Scarf: wool scarves are not recommended, you should use a cloth scarf or a bandana so that if they get wet, they can be easily dried.
  • 3-5 pairs of high, thick socks (do not use low-cut socks).
  • Personal items: mosquito repellent, sunglasses, hat, camera, underwear, toiletries.
  • Heat pads: 2-3 pieces (depending on the number of days of the tour).
  • Personal medicine.
  • Identification documents: ID card/Citizen ID card/Passport.

FAQs

The Tour Guide (HDV - or Leader) is the person responsible for all issues and the process of your tour. This is the person who will take care of the group, take care of the group from the smallest things and take you to the most interesting tourist destinations. Wild Adventure's tour guides are all experienced people, knowledgeable about trekking routes, know and guide you thoroughly through the process and techniques when climbing mountains.

Wild Adventure's tour guides are funny, friendly, knowledgeable, take beautiful photos, and have a practice card. However, to ensure the safety of the trip, the tour guide will have the right to refuse to serve, accept or retain any member of the group at any time.

Because the trekking process is very difficult, overcoming complex terrain, you must comply with the trekking regulations and listen to the tour guide's instructions. If during the trekking process there are unfavorable conditions such as weather or factors related to safety, documents, local authorities, the tour guide will have the right to rely on his experience to postpone or change the tour schedule to best suit the customer.

Porters are local people who are familiar with the terrain of the trekking route, the climate, and the culture of the land where they will be trekking.

In addition, they are people in good health and during the trekking process will be responsible for guiding the way, carrying the luggage of the whole group according to the instructions of the tour guide.

In addition, porters are also the people who go at the beginning and end of the tour, cook and assist you during the trekking process. Wild Adventure has paid for the porters.

On average, there will be one porter for every 3 customers.

During the process of trekking a mountain peak, there will be many problems and difficulties. This requires you to strictly follow the safety regulations and listen to the Leader's instructions.

However, to ensure your rights and increase your responsibility, you will have to sign a voluntary participation form before the trip. This is a commitment to comply with the trekking rules and help you be responsible for yourself during your trekking process.

In case of tour cancellation, you will be subject to the following cancellation penalties:

100% refund of tour fee in case the tour is canceled due to insufficient participants to organize (with consultation with customers).

From 10 days - 15 days before departure time: 30% of tour price.

From 07 days - 05 days before departure time: 50% of tour price.

From 05 days before departure time: 100% of tour price.

Most of the current trekking routes in Vietnam have fully equipped rest camps with blankets and convenient insulation. For areas without rest camps, Wild Adventure will prepare tents, sleeping bags, and insulation bags for you, ensuring that everyone is fully cared for and safe.

Wild Adventure's trekking tours usually prioritize tours of 12 - 14 people or less. If the number of people exceeds the above number, we will send additional guides to serve the group.

Depending on the mountain peaks and different times, the weather on trekking tours will be different. Usually in the summer, the early morning temperature on the mountain will be 10-15°C and during trekking it will be around 15 - 22°C. In winter, the temperature will drop quite sharply, at least 3-4°C compared to summer.

We will assist with picking up customers at the airport for most tours. However, you should notify in advance and follow the tour departure time to avoid missing the schedule.
